Martha McMenamin Scholarship 2010 Martha McMenamin was the Chief Nurse in the Western Health & Social Services Area and Divisional Chair of Business & Professional Women who bequeathed a fund for members of the Nursing and Midwifery professions working in Ireland to undertake a study in the fields of nursing or midwifery. Each Scholarship is worth up to a maximum of £5,000 which the Panel will allocate as deemed appropriate.

IANO inaugural Pesidents Prize
The IANO will be awarding its inaugural presidents prize to the successful applicant for this years research proposal.
The prize will be a clincial placement in the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York.

Irish Hospice Foundation Local Research Grants and Research Training Grants for 2009
The Irish Hospice Foundation Research Committee welcomes proposals for: 1. Local research projects in hospice / palliative and bereavement care (grants to a maximum of €6,000) and 2. Training of individual members of staff in research methodology (grants to a maximum of €3,000)
Deadline for receipt of completed applications is Friday 27th November 2009.

HISI Research Bursaries 2009
Every year the Society awards two research grants of €2000 each, to enable individuals study an area of Healthcare Informatics. Submissions are received from a range of Informatics students at Bachelor, Higher Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma, Masters and PhD level.
Applicants are required to submit a 500-word application incorporating the rationale for the study, a brief section on the methodology proposed and a breakdown of the planned use of the funding to be awarded. Finally, they should state how this study will contribute to the area of healthcare informatics in Ireland.

Wound Management Association of Ireland Bursaries The wound management association of Ireland award bursaries of up to €5,000 annually to support reserach and/or education in the area of wound management. The Queen’s Institute of District Nursing in Ireland awards small grants to fund clinically based research into the provision of community/palliative nursing care where there is a delay or no funds available from Health Boards or relevant authorities.
Requests for funds are considered quarterly.
