IRISH ASSOCIATION OF CHILDREN'S NURSES
About the IACN

The IACN is a voluntary association of children's Nurses, which aims to provide leadership and professional support to children's nurses.

The association began in the summer of 2003, when children's nurses came together to develop a forum to network with colleagues and to promote the development of children's nursing. Following a extensive consultation process, the association identifed and agreed the primary aims and objectives of the group and developed a steering group to lead the organisation and management of the association. During the course of several meetings, nurses put forward their ideas in relation to how the association could be structured. As a result, the association now aims to have quarterly association meetings for all members. Each meeting includes an education / professional update session on a topic relevant to children's nursing.

As a voluntary group, the IACN is dependant on the membership of the many nurses throughout the country working and caring for children.

Please join us in providing a forum for supporting and networking while promoting our special discipline.
