About us

Mission Statement:

To provide a programme of education and a forum for exchange of information for members of the nursing profession who care for people with breast disease.

Aims

  • To give a united voice to nurses working in breast care acting as a pressure group to ensure that breast care is recognized as an important healthcare area
  • To promote breast care nursing as a specialty by adding to research and literature in the area
  • To provide a network for nurses who care for women with breast disease or breast cancer
  • To act as a forum of support for nurses working in the specialty of breast care
  • To establish and maintain links with international organizations having similar objectives
  • To define the role of a breast care nurse for society at large and for the health profession in particular
  • To increase the number of breast care nurses working in breast care services in Ireland
  • To emphasize and publicize the need for appropriate screening and early detection of breast disease and breast cancer
  • To promote breast awareness
