Dear Colleagues

On behalf of the ILCNG I apologise to anyone visiting the site for not keeping you up to date with our activities over the past year or two. We are currently in the process of updating the website.

As you may or may not know we have been working on an interactive information CD for patients with lung cancer for the past four years. It has been a lot of hard work but was very successfully launched on 28/04/09 in the RCSI. Thanks to Roche products for their sponsorship of same in the form of an unrestricted educational grant.

The launch has attracted quite a bit of media attention around the country. Hopefully this media coverage will continue and raise public awareness of lung cancer in Ireland. The demand for the CD has been huge and hopefully will continue. Feedback from the patients and their significant others has been excellent to date.

Following on from the success of our educational evening on breathlessness last year, we plan to organise another evening for all health professionals involved in lung cancer in November 2009 (lung cancer awareness month). Further details will be posted on the website in the coming months. We would welcome suggestions from anyone on topics for this meeting.
