provide a forum for Nurse Specialists who are involved in the long term care of
people who have diabetes.
- To promote an increased awareness amongst the
members of the need for specialist care for persons with diabetes.
- To
organise educational meetings and courses for members.
- To provide
a recognised training programme (which would be approved by An Bord Altranais)
for diabetes specialist nurses.
- To promote communication between
the Association, local, national, and international groups involved in diabetes
education and research.
- To keep members of the Association informed
of current trends in education care and research.
